Wearing Confidence Like a Lady

If These Heels Could Talk they would say, "One thing I do not lack is confidence."
I believe every woman is beautiful in their own way. I just believe that some of them have not yet discovered how to radiate their beauty. I don't believe that beauty is skin deep either.  True beauty is something that we don't always see but can always feel. It can come in the form of a tear drop, a smile, or silence.
I grew up in the country and although my mother and father both worked, they didn't make a lot of money. We never went hungry but there were times we went without electricity.   One year our well went dry and we went the entire year without running water.  Although we didn't have running water, we were always clean, the house was always clean and we knew how to have a good time.  My mother made sure that we were loved and felt loved.  I really am so thankful for her.
I can't be mad about the struggle because it helped mold me today into the strong, confident, independent, hard working woman that takes nothing from no one and only dishes out that which I could handle myself. That doesn't mean that what I dish out others always handle well, it means that I realize that I can't complain or get mad when I encounter a strong personality just like mine.
I am a straight forward, tell it like it is, matter of fact kind of lady.  I do not see the need in "beating" around the bush.  "Beating around the bush"  is time and money wasted.   I am passionate about everything that I encounter and do not take no for an answer.  If I want it I am going to get it. And if I don't get it I am going to embrace the reason for my not "getting" it.  Live and learn I say.  (and I am sure other people say this too, they took the line from me, just saying)

Around this neck of the woods I have become famous in my own sort of way.  With three kids in sports, I have more often than not arrived at the ball fields straight from the office,  still wearing my high heels and pencil skirt. Yes I realize this  not your typical game day attire but if I am being honest I am most comfortable in my high heels and pencil skirt.   If I were to attend a game now without donning the heels, I  really think I might let a few people down.
So what exactly I am so confident about?  Well...  I am confident in my own skin.  I am confident that I do not have to compare myself to any other person. I am confident that I am unique in my own special way.  I am confident in my ability to not meet a stranger. I am confident in my high heels and pencil skirt. I am confident that there will be people that I encounter that do not like me and that is good with me because the ones that do like me far outweigh the ones that don't.  I am confident that there will be let downs and set backs, but I can never stop.  Stopping kills people.   I am confident that all that which I have been blessed with could be gone tomorrow and as hard as that would be I would still be okay.  And there would be a blessing in me losing it all.
Confidence doesn't happen over night and at times is compared to vanity.  I find that tragic. I believe every woman should wake up in the morning and sprinkle a little confidence in their coffee,  cup of tea, or diet Sunkist. Then they should  put on their favorite pair of matching bra and panties before sliding into their favorite pair of heels,   (or tennis shoes or flats, whatever you are confident in), then head out into the world with their Confident, Beautiful selves.

I Am Really Thankful For This Stuff

If These Heels Could Talk they would say, "I kind of slacked on a few days of the thirty days of thankfulness so I am going to sum up a few things I am really thankful for."

During the thirty days of thankfulness people posted mostly the obvious things that they were thankful for; family, friends, jobs, food and a roof over their head.  I too am thankful for those things but I thought I would let you in on a few things that I know I have at times taken for granted until I didn't have them.

1. Central Heat and Air -  If you have never went without central heat and air then you can't appreciate this, however I have been without both and there is nothing like CENTRAL HEAT AND AIR.  My grandmother was the mass collector of them sticky fly traps.  You could walk into her single wide trailer on any given 100 degree summer day and see at least twenty of them things hanging around.  Even with central air she may have had a few flies enter her home, but not enough for twenty sticky fly traps hanging from the ceiling.

We had a wood burning stove or a kerosene heater most of the times for our heat at my houses.  There is nothing worse than heating the front half of your body to a good toasty level only to have the back half of you frozen solid.  You just have to keep turning and turning like you are a piece of fish being fried  until you get a good toasty feeling on both sides and then by that time the wood has burned down and you have to go outside to get more.  I've never really had that problem since central heat and air....  I am blessed.

2. Dental Floss -  How can anyone go without flossing?  I seriously think I could compare it to crack for me, although I have never tried crack. Hence if I had I probably wouldn't care about the flossing.  I have to floss at least three times a day.  And I am thankful for those little pickers that have the floss on the end.  HEAVEN in my mouth I tell ya.

3. Make-Up -  Yes I know not everyone wears makeup and not every woman needs it, I however love putting on my make-up.  I do not feel complete without my make-up.  It is just another accessory for me and I rarely leave the house without it. There is  only one other thing makes me feel more like a woman and that is number four.

4.  High Heel Shoes - Anyone and everyone that knows me knows my love for the high heel shoe.   I feel taller, more slender, more powerful and sexier in my high heel shoes.  There is no other explanation needed.  I love the person that invented them.  I can look at shoes like some people look at, well you know... cough cough.....

5.  Bubble Bath - What lady doesn't like a long bubble bath?  Have a drink in hand, feet propped up, pondering on the day's issues and planning tomorrow's escape.  I can sink in bubbles for hours, at least until the kids need something, then it is party over.

6. Pencil Skirt -  Now not all figures should attempt the pencil skirt and I am not saying that I am all that and a bag of chips or that I will be winning any of The Next Top Model episodes. But just as my make-up and high heels give me a little pep in my step, let me put on a pencil skirt and I will conquer the world.  I no longer fight the battle of my curves or try to hide them.  I will never be the size of a pencil so I embrace the next best thing.

7.  Laughter - Everyone laughs for different reasons, I laugh for a lot of reasons.  I am very thankful for my coping mechanism of laughter.  I think it is much better than crying especially since the crying can affect my number three.

Now as I stated these are just a few things that I am thankful for and I really wouldn't want to have to go without them.  I have been without all seven of them and that is what makes me appreciate every single one of them.

Concert Attendance Can Teach You A Thing Or Two

If These Heels Could Talk they would say, "I never let a day go by without learning something new.  A trip to a concert was no different."

This past weekend me and some of my  friends headed a little south to take in some tunes at a concert of one of our favorite, fine as wine, country singers, Mr. Luke Bryan himself.  All but one of them had ever had the pleasure of partaking in adult shenanigans with me and I was not about to disappoint her.

First of all, in true Angie fashion I wheeled it up in my girl's driveway at fifteen minutes past the time I was due to arrive.  Hey it wasn't my fault the lady at the nail salon had a malfunctioning swipper machine and I had to drive to the bank, get money out and take it back to her... just saying....

So I scramble out of my car, grabbed my necessary adult beverage, my purse with everything but the kitchen sink in it and head to get in my friends vehicle.  All eight of us packed it in like a can of sardines and set off to make a few memories.

Within ten minutes of the trip I am politely asked, "Hey Angie do you have any more stories about Cooters Catching on Fire?" In which I respond, "no however when I do you will be the first to hear it."  Of course those that had not heard the story had to be filled in quickly.  p.s. if you wish to know that story read about it in my blog....... it is a knee slapper.

So we continue on our merry way, and within twenty minutes, as I am telling a story I drop the F bomb and my girlfriend politely nudges me in the arm. This was just her way of reminding me of my ability to use this F bomb more often than I probably should.  I think we even said something about getting me a shock collar or something.  Well the young lady and a new found  that had never been around me said, "and here I was worried about my foul language skills, I don't feel so bad about myself."  It is always a good day when I can make someone else feel good about themselves.

After a stop at the gas station for a top of  fuel and my adult beverage and a stop or two for me to pose with a pallet and a truck since apparently I could not find any other photo props, we arrive at our destination.

The place was not short of teenagers and young twenty some things.....All dressed in their concert attire, drinking their beer, wearing their boots, smoking their cigs.  The guys trying to impress the ladies and the ladies sticking their nose in the air.

I like to watch these creatures in action and I will say that they did not disappoint me at  and taught me a few things.

THE THINGS I LEARNED FROM THAT TRIP

  • A lot of young people and I refer to anyone that is younger than myself, have no sense of humor. I find someone with no sense of humor repulsive.

  • A lot of young people have no sense of direction.  When I ask, "hey do you know where I can find a good corn hole game?"  then by George I want to know.  There was only 1000 games of corn hole being played at one time.  Point me in the general direction.  They just looked at me like a deer in the head lights.  Clueless I tell ya.

  • Some young men can be quiet handsy.  If I have to say to you, "touch me one more time and I am going to punch you, and don't cry like a bitch when I do", then you best not try to pinch my ass.  Just saying.

  • Most of these same young people do not know how to seize the opportunity.  Yes security was around but there was also a stage there calling my name saying, "jump up here Angie, you apparently don't have enough excitement in your life."  So that is what I did and I have the picture to prove it. See it is right there. ------------->>>>>

  • Some young people have no manners.  If you want to be by the stage then show up early with the rest of us. But do not expect to show up late then push your way to the front with out even saying excuse me.  If they would have at least said, "excuse me" I would have let them by.  Manners go a long way people.

  • And finally something I already know but reaffirmed it at this concert, heels, holes and gravel don't mix.  That deadly combination will twist an ankle in a heart beat.
This concert trip had it all.   I laughed and I sang and I laughed and sang some more.  I spoke to complete strangers as if I had known them all my life.  And yes I wore the heels.

Surviving the Cut - Facebook Style

If These Heels Could Talk they would say, "Do you have what it takes to outlast, outwit, and to ultimately survive the cut, Facebook Style?"

This little nugget of inspiration comes from a few Facebook posts that I have read this week.  The posts come from some of my Facebook friends and they go something like this....

"I am cleaning out my friends list, if you are still here you know what that means, you weren't deleted."

"I swear to God if people don't stop sending me Candy Crush requests, I am deleting them."

"If you posts to much be prepared to get deleted."

"Time to clean up, some people need to be deleted."

So how am I supposed to take these idle threats? Am I just supposed to be comfortable with them and just sit on pins and needles the rest of the day?  Am I to wonder, was I deleted, did they ever care to begin with? What did I do? Did I post too much? Did I not post enough?  Where did this relationship fall apart?

Actually here is what I think......

I have myself encountered on an occasion a few people in which I clicked right on their little name and hit DELETE.... But this deletion never came from their posts but rather another annoying habit that some people have that I will share on another occasion.

Other than that I thoroughly enjoy the variety that I have in my Facebook Friends. They all have different personalities.   Some post daily, some post multiple times a day. Some never post. Some are stalkers. I know this because they never comment on my posts however when I talk to my mother she enlightens me on how many people ask her about me and what I may have recently posted.  Just ask me, I will share my friends.   Some are just readers. Some are complainers and complain about everything.  Some are politicians and posts nothing but political stuff.  Some are advertisers. Some are fitness buffs, some are stay at home moms. Some post a lot of pictures and some post none.

The way I see it is that if you have a page and feel the need to manage it a certain way, that does not mean that the next person will manage theirs the same.  And to get angry is quite absurd if you ask me. Unless they out right offend you in some manner, why not embrace the variety and appreciate it?  That is just my factual opinion of course.

What does anyone care if Peggy Sue posts 20 pictures of herself and yes maybe she does think she looks good? Maybe just maybe Peggy Sue used to be overweight and she lost tons of weight and now she is proud of her accomplishment. Let her boast for a damn minute.  You don't know her story.

And maybe Billy Bob is going through a rough divorce and is lonely and feels the need to vent one night on Facebook.  Do I think that this is the best avenue for venting about your cheating slut of a wife? Hmmmm probably not, however maybe it makes him feel better for a second to get it off his chest and keeps him from going completely insane.  Be thankful no one was murdered. He most likely will delete it the next day anyway after he apologizes to all that he may have been offended.

I heard on a radio station recently that Facebook was linked to causing people's depression.  The depression stemmed from one reader looking at another person's life and becoming depressed because their's wasn't as glorious.  You know those friends that are always traveling, etc.....  Again, this is absurd. You can travel, you can have fun, you can have an awesome life, you just have to make it happen.  And then you can tell us all about it on your Facebook page but only if you feel the need to.

I have been accused of sharing "too much" and I find that rather intriguing as well because these same people accusing me of sharing "too much" come up with some of the most off the wall opinions of me.  If I really shared "too much" then those opinions would be facts.  I share what I want, when I want and how I want.  I decide what is too much.  Maybe they don't share enough.  Just saying.

The mentality behind the whole "delete" is just what we have resorted to as a society. One day we care the next day we don't.  Of course I don't think that all 1217 of my Facebook Friends are really my friends. Quiet frankly if you manage to go through life with one true friend you should consider yourself blessed.  I just happen to have a few more than one.  And of course my life is not over, so who knows they may "delete" me.

So how do you survive the cut?  How do you make all these cyber Facebook Friends pleased?   I really don't know and I really don't give it a second thought.  But my friends that do posts about deleting friends certainly give me a chuckle.  I think, "uh oh who done made them mad?"

In the meantime, I will be watching for more of Surviving the Cut Facebook style

I Don't Have a Butt Like J-Lo For a Reason

If These Heels Could Talk they would say, "ladies please stop lying to yourselves and trying to take short cuts to looking and feeling better."

As I was checking my daily news via Facebook,  (by the way can someone please start posting the weather that would really help me out)  I scrolled across yet another post on dieting or how to make yourself look skinny. This particular post was about drinking something that will help your belly be flatter.

Now I didn't even waste two seconds reading this material because quite frankly I was trying to catch up on the latest scandals, outburst, vents, rants, promotions, confessions, obsessions, and bragging of all my Facebook Friends.  I must say that on most days I am very blessed and realize I am not as crazy as some of them. Just saying.

Anyway, after seeing the title to that post about dieting and making your belly flatter I started thinking about how ridiculous  women can be when it comes to wanting to look skinnier, myself included.    Notice I chose skinnier and not better.  Skinnier does not always mean that you look better and skinnier does not always mean that you are  healthy.

Nothing great in this lifetime will come to those that think taking a short cut to achieve your goals will work.  Let me give you some things to ponder and I will use myself as an example.  And this is all in relation to what we think we want versus what we are willing to do to get what we want. Of course in this post in means a perfect body.

I think that the female body is a beautiful thing. And I say this without questioning my sexuality at all. I still don't bat for the home team.  I just think all in all women are beautiful.  There are some women that you look at and you think, "dang I would love
to have her legs, or her abs, or her butt, or her arms."  But in order to even begin to have what they have we have to do something we haven't done.  And that is work for it.  Here are some of my, "dang I wish I had that." I will start from the bottom and work my way up.

1. Carrie Underwood's Legs: Good Lawd she has the sexiest legs and if I believed in reincarnation I would love to come back as her legs when I die.  They are perfect.  I don't have legs even remotely close to looking like these because I do not put forth the effort in getting them to look this awesome.  Here is what she does:

Front Lunges with a Torso Twist- Holding a medicine ball step forward into a front lunge. While in a lunge position, hold the medicine ball out in front of the body and twist sideways, keeping the medicine steady. Twist back to the front and stand, bringing the feet together and lowering the medicine ball. Note: Twist in the direction of the lunge. (If you lunge with your right leg, twist towards the right.) This move works your core, shoulders, and legs.

Jump Squats: One of the best ways to “force your body to change” is to add plyometric or dynamic moves into your routine. Squat (as if you are going to sit into a chair while keeping your torso straight), from the squat position, JUMP into the air as high as you can, landing back into the squat position. Repeat for 20-25 reps. Great for the glutes, hamstrings, and it also gets your heart rate up.

2. Jennifer Lopez's Butt: We all know this famous rear.  And while I have a rather round rear of my own it looks nothing like this fine piece of art.  I don't have that ass or as some may reference DAT ASS because I again do not put the effort in getting it to look this grand.  Not to surprise you but Jennifer Lopez also uses squats and lunges to workout that rear.

Follow this link and it shares her entire workout plan: http://www.popworkouts.com/jennifer-lopez-workout

Now I also believe that the key to a great looking rear when you have a larger than most other rear, is to pick the right articles of clothing.  You can't hide it so you might as well embrace it's beauty and enjoy the curves you have been gifted with.  Just do us all a favor and let it hang out.

 3. Someone With AWESOME abs:  As I was surfing the Internet and looking through pictures for awesome abs, I originally looked for some celebrity pictures.  After not really finding what I was looking for I ran across this picture.  Now this lady has some nice abs.  If I were to have some nice abs this is how I would like them to look.  I don't have abs like that because again, I don't do what is required to get those results.  And yes I have had three children and no I do not believe that is reason they do not look like this.  Again I don't put in the effort.

Since I have no clue  who this person is I can't google her ab workout.  But I did some research on other  ab workouts. And I came across this one:  http://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/get-rock-solid-abs

I was going to continue up the body to the arms, but decided to just stop right here.  I think this gives us enough to go on for now.  I do realize that there are certain medical conditions that cause a person to gain weight and makes it harder to lose the weight.  This is not about people being overweight anyway.  It is about doing what needs to be done to get the results you want.

When I look at all three of these women I am not jealous of what they have that I don't. And I don't hate the way I look.  I actually feel pretty confident about my appearance.  I do however know that I could always improve to look better and feel better not for anyone else but for myself.

At the end of the day we have to decide if we want to do the work to get the reward.  And that is the bottom line.   Just to add a little humor to this post I researched some of the most ridiculous diets that have ever existed.  Number one is actually my favorite.  The the sad part is people actually believed them.

Special Brownies

If These Heels Could Talk they would say.... "there are brownies and then there are special brownies."

I have a very sweet friend of mine, I will call her Susie Lou. (Not her real name,  I made up one  since she didn't give me permission  )  But I am going to share a story of hers.  I laughed so hard when she told me this story. I told her, "girl you got stories."

The event itself is funny, however the fact that it was Susie Lou that experienced it, made it even better. Susie Lou is a petite pretty little thing with a bubbly personality.   I love when we get to spend time together.

Susie Lou and I were high tailing it  to Greene County to take in some Friday Night lights and cheer on our boys.  She was nervously riding shotgun. Nervous mainly because of my awesome driving skills.  I said to her, "don't be alarmed because the Good Lord is the captain of my ship and he is going to get us to the game safe."  And she in turn said, "I hear ya, but could you watch out for that mailbox." Needless to say she hasn't rode shotgun with me again.  It was during this road trip that I was blessed with this story.  Oh I laughed until my stomach hurt.

A few weeks prior to this game Susie Lou had made a trip to one of the local stores to purchase a new pair of cleats for her little running back that she calls son.  Her mother had made that trip with her.

While in the sporting goods store, Susie Lou  began to feel a little on the light headed side. You know that feeling you get sometimes, like you are a little foggy.  She didn't think much of it and thought that she just might need to get a bite to eat.

As she continued to dilly dally around the store her mouth began to feel very dry.  She was finding it hard to even swallow.  Next she began to feel her heart beating faster and she began to feel a little on the paranoid side.  She told her mom that she wasn't feeling that well and that they should go ahead and finish up.

As she and her mother walked to the truck all of her symptoms seemed to be getting worse.  Her mouth was even more try, her heart was beating faster and she felt even more paranoid.  They decided that it would be best if her mother drove.

Her mother asked her if she had eaten anything today and Susie Lou replied, "just a little breakfast and that half of a brownie at your house."  Then she remembered...... She said, "mom where did the brownie come from." Her mom replied, "it came out of your nieces room." "She had a pan of brownies in there and she knows that she isn't supposed to have food in her .room"  "The pan was full, I guess she ate them all."

Meanwhile as they  continue down the road  Susie Lou continues to struggle with the onset of her symptoms.  Sweet Susie Lou is somewhat of a Nervous Nelly anyway that is why she has never rode shotgun with me again.  So anything out of the norm makes her more nervous.

Susie Lou tells her mom, "call my niece and ask her if there was anything in those brownies."  Of course her mother was a little confused at first, however she did as she was instructed.  The continued on down the road and turned into the nearest fire station. At this point Susie Lou wasn't sure if she was having an allergic reaction to something or not.

Meanwhile her mother continues to ask the niece what was in the brownies. "Tell me what was in the brownies." The niece responds, "what do you mean?"  Susie Lou  's mother is insistent that she tell what was in the brownies and  became more forceful with her questioning. "Tell me what you put in the brownies, your aunt is over here and she is freaking out and we don't know if she is having an allergic reaction or not."

While the niece is being questioned by the mother the EMTs are questioning Susie Lou about her day.  "What did you eat?" "Where have you been?" "What year is it?" "What is your birthday."  All the normal questions.

After several rounds of forceful questioning Susie Lou's mom finally gets a reply from the niece, "I put marijuana in the brownies, that is why she feels the way she does."

Susie Lou's mom relays that very valuable information to the EMTs and all was relieved. "They told my good friend to get some water, a bag or two of some munchies and go home and sleep it off."

Susie Lou was some what relieved to find out what was really ailing her and vowed to never eat from any one's batch of brownies again.

Squat Like a Real Lady

If These Heels Could Talk they would say, "what in the hell has the world come to and what the hell is this?!?!?!"
This to me is disturbing in a lot of different ways.  First of all, what the hell is she wearing and why does she have tube socks on with those shoes?  If they were really going to try to advertise this little contraption why wouldn't they at least make the girl look a little more feminine?
Now before I get criticism, I think it is perfectly fine what she is wearing if she has been playing soccer or whatever.....

My issue is this -  I don't think this young lady would have any problem purchasing this ridiculous piece of plastic. I think she might rather enjoy using it.  I don't really know and don't care about her. They should have had someone, hmmmmm , let me think,  that wears a skirt and heels.

Here is my reasoning:  You have to go after those which you know would not obviously run out to the stores to purchase this little SheWee.  And in my factual opinion it would be the ladies that are not  on the tomboy side that would be the harder sale.  And  they may be less likely to use this ridiculousness.

I have nothing against ladies that are on the tomboy side, etc... All women are beautiful to me, o.k. well not all women some have nasty attitudes which makes them ugly..... but this isn't about beauty right now it is about this ridiculous piece of product.

Now I will tell you this, I have hiked it over logs, stumps, and boats. I have even squatted.  I mean when nature calls a girl has to do what a girl has to do.  And if you are in the middle of a field at a party drinking beer like it is no body's  business (I no longer drink beer by the way), with no bathroom in site, well you will find a tire to hold on to while your girlfriend stands there guiding the flow of fluids.

There was only one time in my life that yes, I will admit, I tried to tinkle while standing. However at this moment in my life I was around 10 years old and thought that my brothers had all the fun. They got to go hunting, fishing and camping and they cussed a lot.  I didn't get to do any of that.  I didn't want to be a boy, I just wanted to have fun like them and it seemed like fun to be able to whip the goods out whenever nature called.  It was an epic fail and my last attempt at ever trying to tinkle while standing.
Never ever  have I thought, wow I wish I had a plastic funnel that may or may not act as a filter for my sprinkle while I tinkle.  I wouldn't even want to use this thing if it meant putting my best pair of heels in the line of fire.  I would rather kick those babies off and squat like a real lady.

Acts, Axe, and Ask

If These Heels Could Talk they would say, "knowing the proper word to use in a sentence is very important and could prevent further confusion to all the non speaking english individuals who are trying to learn the language  of our awesome country."

Example:

1.  Acts

Every now and then I acts him how he is doing.  - Wrong on all levels.

2.  Axe

Every now and then I axe him how he is doing. - Wrong again on all levels.

3.  Ask

Every now and then I will ask him how he is doing. - Right and very acceptable on all levels.

The correct way to use all of the above is as follows:

Every now and then she acts in a movie where she takes an axe and then proceeds to ask can I kiss you good night and smother you with a pillow.  If that is not acceptable then I shall proceed to plan b which will determine if I have the strength or the strenf to carry on with this episode of Snapped.

It is your choice Mister.......

Just Another Night At The Ballfield

If These Heels Could Talk.....they would say, "What a night!!!!"

One of my favorite things is watching my youngest son play his sports.  Right now it is baseball and the fall it will be football.  Tonight his team won 17 to 5 and he made an awesome play in right field.  Of course I yelled, "that is my boy", as if the people around me didn't already know that.  I just wanted to remind them in case it might have slipped their mind.

Over the years I would have to almost always leave work and head straight to the fields, whether it was a softball field, when I coached Kayla, or a baseball field or football field for the boys. I would of course be in my business attire upon arrival.  No, it wasn't planned to show up in a skirt, blouse and heels, it just worked out that way. I personally never thought much of it, until recently.

I do not find it insulting at all when someone is trying to describe me to another person and they say, "you will know her when you see her."  And then when they see me they know me because of what shoes I am wearing. Now there has been a time or two that someone has said that they thought I was the female version of a dog due to the "shoes" I was wearing. Now I have heard of profiling but profiling  because of a pair of stilettos is taking it a bit far. I wasn't offended though.

It is no secret that I love my shoes just about as much as I love watching my kids play their sports.  It is a real tight race if I am being honest.  And now it has become topic of conversation. Even today I was asked, "so what shoes are you wearing tomorrow?"

Now I realize some will think that this is quite ridiculous and who really cares about what shoes I am wearing. I can't say I wouldn't disagree if I weren't a part of the situation.  I honestly don't think that it is about the shoes I am wearing at all.  It is about the awesome conversations we have and the laughter, joking and smiling when talking about them and  my ability to not roll and ankle in them.

So I am embracing this part of my love of shoes and instead of trying to "fit" in with the rest of the crowd, I will  just continue to do what I do best.  I show up, I prop up, I make an inappropriate comment, yell at the umpire  and I cheer for home team. I just might be 4 inches taller than normal when I do it.
